The Comcast video shows that we should not let people into our home. Unless I am right there to make sure that he doesn't fall asleep.

I really thought it was funny that one man in the begining was really from el savlador. He was mistaken for being a mexican landscaprer. Grammatic errors do not make up for intellegence ; or lack knowledge. Treating someone differently is horrible. They went on to discuss foreign languages; my favorite part was when Carmen really knew english well and he kept speaking spanish. Then the librain had something to say as well; that she thought because he was using spanish to explain to Carmen, she thought that he might of been talking behind her back.

I enjoy these types of videos. Everyone views things/people differently. I also found it mildly amusing.

Bad acting..but hilarious. I learned something about how to avoid making other cultures mad.

I loved the video, thought it was very interesting. It showed how ignorant we can be sometimes, especially when it comes to an individuals ethnic background. Alot of people are quick to say that all spanish people are mexicans and that all oriental people are chinese. The video really shed some light on some things that sometimes go unnoticed.

Greg Grant-

It was a basic work show so they don't get sued video. Boring badly written and making obvious examples of it.

The video does a great job of exercising the practice of removing our cultural "glasses" and perceiving our culture for what it is. Other than that the presentation could have been a bit more thought provoking with a more professional presentation.

I like how the video compared different cultures speaking styles to different sports. I found the video very informational but it could’ve done without the terrible acting.

It was an interesting video. It showed the differences in all the cultures that are involved in our society today. Also taught lessons on how to act or react differently with other people from different cultures.

The video was very accurate when it comes down to cultural difference. I have traveled most of europe and middle eastern countries. Being aware of you surroundings is the only way we can get along.

Culture differences can be misunderstood in numerous situations. A Customer may appear to be irate when actually it is just the way they are use to communicating.

Fully understandable. Life on idle, as I'm bored "out of my mind", we NEED a new revival. Though thank you.

The conflicts between cultural differences can obviously have a great affect on customer service. I guess to assume that everyone in a customer service role can master the nuances of every cultural situation is unrealistic. It seems the important focus should be on generating a customer service manual that is as culturally neutral as possible, then to train analysts to be as attentive and sensitive as they can be.

This was a reminder to not make pre-conceived judgements and approach situations with an open mind.

It was a very interesting video. I can relate to a lot of the issues raised in this movie. This was an excellent exaple of why Dell made a mistake moving there customer support to India.

The video was very true and informative because some people pre-judge others instead of asking. If people would ask first, it would save them time and embarrassment. You shouldn't ever judge a book by its cover.

It was sort of like watching one of the port brief videos that we would have to endue before pulling into a port and getting to stroll through a new country while in the military. We would have to find out all of the ways NOT to offend the host country... boys and girls put your manors on!

I think the video has some good information in it that pertains to dealing with people and customers that are not familiar with the American culture

Jen Gorski said...

I thought that the video was quite insightful. I think that it is very important to communicate within other cultures, and I am thankful that I live in a country that is open to cultural differences. HOWEVER, I feel that it is also important for people who do, in fact reside here from other countries to understand that they, too must accept the cultural barrier as well, and not blame American's for not understanding because if the shoe were on the other foot, and it was an American dwelling within another culture, the American would be criticized for not knowing the 'order of business' in that country or culture. American's can't change the American way of life just because a certain culture or religion does not coincide, nor should any other culture or religion have to change because of the American culture. I don't think that's a racist comment, I think that it's a realistic comment.

The way the worl work, pepole cant help being beis.We assume that if a person is in this coutry or if you are in there's then you should already know what the culture differnt are. But if pepole would take the time to help and expland to other when a mistake is made life in any part of the world would be easier. In US there is so many culture that there should be a classes in high school to help are furture adults to understand and to communcate better. until then we well still be blind with lack of understanding.
