Repeat backs/Paraphrasing the discussion always help capsure the most important pieces of the conversation.

Being patient is probably the most difficult and most important part of communicating over the telephone

Remembering to close a call by recaping the discussion, repeating action steps you plan to provide, be specific in your time frames, ask the customer if there is anything else you can do for them, and thank the customer for calling.

Techniques/tools I learned is customer service can get you far when it comes to businesses. By the owners of the Kingston company responding to the customer's request or ideas, the company became more successful.

The company Kingston seems too good to be true. I have learned that it is very hard to make everyone happy and keep them happy, especially motivated to work. But if they have found the sercet good for them. The quarterly bonuses do help and have no walls to get in contact with a vp or owner does speed things up when trying to please a customer so that helps alot. So I would have to say, if I can find a company with these qualities, I should go for it.

Back on the topic of how people represent themselves over the phone, I find it amazing how many people are completely and totally lacking in verbal communication skills. Having worked at businesses that pull the majority of employees from the 16-26 year old age group I find that you will notice a severe decline in the skills essential for that employee to represent the company in a professional fashion. Now, who is to blame for this is a totally different topic, but what I'm concerned about mostly is how a company can feel that is it cost effective to entertain employees like this and not have it affect their over all sales. I for one get tired of listening to people that do not know how to speak English correctly.
